The Voices That Speak In The Dark

Late stories move as stream
Into the souls of mere mortals
Invoking the feeling of anger
Same old voice that beeps,
Reveals the faith of power
In tradition and religion
Replacing the light that shines
In the minds of pure mortals
With darkness from generation to generation.

Oh the last word of command
That influenced the soul’s demand
Tears running through the cheek
Dropping on the dead bodies of innocent beings
Mother’s cry for the blood of her child
Each day announces it to the night
Swords drawn and guns move from the holster
Anger, sorrow and hatred take off the love
From the youths to destroy one another

As the sounds of the treated metals meet
Rebelliously, the power of the swords strike
To defend souls as their hearts cry
Alas, there stands the symbol of peace
How clearly the sky reveals God’s glory
No speech or words are used
No violent sound is heard
Yet their message goes out to all
The nation across the world
Reverence for peace is good
The laws of love is true
No fiends, now friends

Ethnicity and tribalism we dishonor
All before self we honor
The voice of the great we trust
Memory brings their good works alive
In fellowship with like minds they fought
And striving for peace they won
They became immortals living as mere mortals
We again feel their thrusts
Their voices speak even in the dark.
